Les Brevets Multi-touch iPhone d'Apple ne retarderont pas la sortie du "Palm Pré"

 Le form factor du Palm Pré est à mon avis le meilleur et celui qui se généralisera pour les modèles à clavier en offrant un grand écran en vue portrait au-dessus d'un clavier physique. Palm semble enfin de retour avec de vraies nouveautés tout en ayant conservé le meilleur de son âme ; la simplicité et le "minimum de touches" pour une opération.  Aujourd'hui l'excellent "InfoSyncWorld" nous apprend que les récents brevets délivrés à Apple sur le "multi-touch sur écran mobile" n'empêcheront pas la sortie du Palm Pré qui utilise également ce système. Ce qui semble un peu étonnant surtout qu'il y a peu de jours,  les mêmes brevets empêchaient Google d'utiliser cette technologie sur Androïd !!

"The Palm Pre will be released as planned, despite the recent "issues" with the iPhone multi-touch patent.
When talking to investors today, Ed Colligan said that the Palm Pre could attract other U.S. carriers in the 2010 timeframe. Furthermore, Palm Pre users will not be restricted to Palm's App Store applications, meaning that whatever you pick up on the street will be legal ware, or at least won't violate the Palm Pre user license.
More important, there will be no legal actions with Apple right now. According to PreCentral, Ed Colligan explained patents as something you file to have a defensive position, and that Palm has more than 1500 of them in total:
The reason you do that is to have a defensive position. It's like two little porcupines going around, and you don't want to touch each other because you might get stung. You peacefully coexist and everything's OK and you keep working together. We're very respectful about people's intellectual property, we believe we're huge innovators and have been for a lot of years and that this product has an enormous number of innovations in it. If something does happen there, we do have the portfolio, we think to defend ourselves and to be successful doing that. But nothing's happened to date, so we're really just focused on getting the product out the door."
